Two years on Keto

I can’t believe it’s been two years!

I haven’t quit, I did plateau for an entire year but lost size anyway. I’m down from a size 18 to a size 8 pants and am now wearing large tee shirts. During this journey, I’ve made mistakes but when I realized I just changed what I was doing and went on. Until this month I have been doing 10% carbs.

In December I decided to try adding no Keto days (Carb cycling) after a year of the same weight while doing 1500 calories a day (More about that later) I lost weight the first week then it just stopped again. After a few weeks, I went to one Carb day a week. I realized I couldn’t fit in my pants and my weight was up. I reevaluated, did some research, and cut my calories to 1200-1300, and moved to the first time to 5% carbs. At the same time dealing with forgotten electrolytes.

I’ve lost 5 lbs in one month and still am eating a carb meal once a week. The big deal that changed a lot of things was when I investigated the whipped cream in a can I was using on my Rebel Icecream. It was one of the few things I didn’t log in to my Simple Stupid Keto App. WOW was that a mistake. I realized that I had been adding at least 500 calories to my 1500 calorie a day diet.

I hope to move back to 1500 calories next month and see if I’m still losing weight. If not I’ll do 1200 every other month until I hit my goal weight.

Keto is all about learning and applying new information.
